Our own ethos on the basis of the curriculum is to provide the children with many different experiences and activities so they can ‘Learn through Play’ and develop the 6 areas of learning in their own way and manner.
• Communication, language and literacy
• Personal, social and emotional
• Knowledge and understanding of the World
• Creativity
• Physical
• Problem solving, reasoning and numeric.
As the children develop in each area, they are being prepared for what the future school life brings.
PLA (Pre School Learning Alliance) website have some great stuff for parents about pre school education and the EYFS.
During some sessions the children in the PFSU will be able to ‘free-flow’, in a structured way, in to the School’s Foundation Stage class in the adjoining room. Where they are able to experience the schools classroom and its’ activities in a safe and fun way.
